A recent announced change in our state’s arts agency logo has prompted questions and conversations about design, expectations of quality, and the audience of these graphics. It made us wonder: what are the other states’ logos like, and do we think they are well designed? We also wondered: what do other people think?
We’ve created an informal, non-scientific assessment of the quality of state arts commission logos from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. We’re looking for numerical rankings for each state, plus you may leave comments if you choose.
We will tally the results for each state and create a ranked list that will be published here on The Chart (we’ll update this post). You may enter your email address if you’d like us to notify you when the results are published.
For a full list of State Arts Agencies plus some Regional Arts Organizations and Jurisdictional Arts Agencies from U.S. territories (not included in this survey), visit the National Endowment for the Art’s website.
Thanks for participating!
