"Meghan Brady: New Misfits”

Meghan Brady: New Misfits

Perimeter Gallery is pleased to present New Misfits, a series of room-sized acrylic paintings on paper and Tyvek by Camden artist Meghan Brady.  The exhibition opens Thursday, January 18, with a reception that evening from 6 to 8 pm, and continues through March 18.
Since August, Meghan Brady has been in residence at the Lincoln Street Center, a former public school in Rockland, through the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation.  The new, very large paintings on view at Perimeter came about in response to the high-ceilinged, over-sized classroom that has been her residency studio.  She further explains, “Through the slate blackboards and sprawling empty rooms, I can feel the youthful spirits that have moved through the building—unruly, hopeful, kinetic, loud.”
Meghan Brady has exhibited widely, including at the Portland Museum of Art, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, ICON Contemporary in Brunswick, SPACE and Able Baker Contemporary in Portland, as well as a number of galleries in New York and beyond. More images of her work are available at
Perimeter Gallery is located at Chase’s Daily, 96 Main Street, in Belfast, Maine.  Gallery hours are 7-5, Tuesday through Saturday, 8-2 on Sunday. For more information call 338-0555, or email
